The automotive world is full of talented folks, but it’s not just those building performance engines, crazy cars or innovative safety equipment that deserve the credit. There are also plenty of artists in the industry, showcasing their skills in unconventional ways that deserve praise. Tom Patsis of Cold Hard Art is one such artist.
Having gone to school for automotive high performance, welding and alternative fuels, Patsis is truly a gearhead. But after working on the PRO Stock motorcycle team for Don Schumacher Racing for six years, Patsis found his true passion after transferring to the fab shop for DSR.
From there, Patsis’ passion for building things exploded and now he creates pieces of automotive artwork like no other- but we’re not talking race car stuff anymore.
Meet Patsis’ projects- a mix of automotive components, creative juices and welding talent! The goal? To create art out of anything.
Whether it’s a scale model of a classic dragster or a menacing robot-esque lawn ornament you’re after, Patsis seems to have created it. And the best part is, he uses traditional automotive components like nuts and bolts, spark plugs, exhaust tubing, headers, engine stacks, gears, etc to create these wonderful works of art.
There are plenty of artists out there that make use of recycled materials in their artwork, but it’s the intricate details that truly set Patsis’ work apart. And yes, Patsis does offer custom art pieces for those automotive enthusiasts wanting a truly unique piece of artwork to further display their passion!
